"I don't have any idea who she is beyond some strange woman in a bar that threw a shoe at me." Zan paused, "And... your friend of course and... a friend of my friend..." There were a whole bunch of people who were ah... friends, weren't there?
"You have something for me?"
He glanced at Dominic again and decided that he'd give Annie her present now. "I... saw it and... thought of you."
He slid the case out of his pocket and offered it to her, unsure if she'd like the necklace contained within. "That's right, she did throw her shoe. Hmmhmm and those were hot shoes too," Anastasia mumbled, rubbing at her brow with one hand as if that would help her remember that chaotic night at the bar. "We should go talk about this....somewhere else...later," she added, looking down at the letter and then back up at Zan. "I mean, Gavin's your friend too, right? You want to stay friends?"
She was no good at this 'maintaining multiple friendships' sort of thing. Absolute rubbish at it. But now that Bunny had more than one friend, she was trying to keep them all for once and good friends helped other friends....er... figure out how they knew their friends' friends. Or something like that.
"And speaking of friends...." Anastasia figured she might as well ask Zan about the photo now instead of just sneaking off with it, although she liked sneaking off with things too. The redhead pulled the picture frame out of the spacious jacket pocket and proceeded to tap on the picture with her fingernail as she held it out to him. "How do you know him?"
Her displeasure at seeing Marcus Lawson and Ethan Truebridge photographed in the same place at the same time looking FRIENDLY was enough to bother her for a while. And hadn't Marcus hinted at them knowing each other? GRR. She had to know their connection, even if it was really simple.
But why did Ethan sound so surprised to hear that she had something for him? Friends could give each other gifts, and now he was giving her a second present and she still owed him one. Hmmph.
Eying the case carefully, Anastasia cradled the box in her hand. She looked at Zan for one long minute, then looked at the case, then glanced to Dominio in the corner, and then decided to just open it. Curiosity killed the bunny. Whoaaaa that's a nice gift, that is niiiiiiice, that is waaaaay nicer than the book thing I had for him. "OH. WOW." she stated a bit loudly, possibly to counteract the thoughts in her head. "That...that's something, Ethan, I...like it. I like it a lot. But..."
Bunbury allowed a little crooked smile to light up her face. "My birthday isn't until January." She might have giggled a little as she went back to staring at the necklace. "And it's sooo prettttty. I shouldn't accept this."
Shouldn't. But they all knew she would. When would Bunbury ever turn down a diamond and pearl necklace? That had probably made a dent in Truebridge's pocketbook, even if he had oodles of galleons from his acting days. So?
"And uh, this was for you," Annie mentioned belatedly, still holding the necklace case as she tried to fumble with the jacket pocket. "I mean, I have something, I do..." I'm just rather dazzled by diamonds right now.
