"That's what friends are for," quipped Daphne with enthusiasm. "If you don't let Celandine buy you things I will and I won't accept any pay backs." Even if her allowance had been cut back drastically.
Just thinking about it made her sigh.

"OH!" Celandine stared incredulously, "You are all sharing a common room? Oh." Cue pout and lip wibble combo, "Ohhh... but..." She turned to face Daphne. "I want to share with the Slytherins."
Daphne pouted right back at her. "Why doesn't anyone ever want to share with us?" Thinking about it further, she directed her frown at an empty wall. To be honest, there were plenty of times she wished she didn't
have to room with the rest of the Gryffindors.
Point taken.

"Cage? No of course not. I keep Him --you remember my scorpion, right?-- I keep Him in a box now, he doesn't fit down my top anymore, I keep the Tarantula --she's called Pig-- in a glass tank most of the time, but I take her outside for fresh air sometimes. I keep Missy, the cockroach in an aquarium, not one filled with water of course! And Marv, my half-grown chicken, she lives out behind the stables, I conjured a coop for her. Sometimes she comes and hangs out with me in my dorm though." Celandine blinked. "Oh... I didn't even know about Hissing Cockroaches until Copernicus bought me one!" She beamed, cleary very impressed by the gift. "And Missy wasn't even the best PART of his gift!"
Cela swept her hair behind her ear. "Where are you walking to? Going out on the grounds?"
So much information to take in and none of it was pleasant, yet Daphne diligently listened as attentively as she could. As best friend it was her job to at least pretend to be interested in the things her friend loved; even if they were really icky things. "I'm afraid to ask what was the best part..."
Blast-ended skrewt? "Oh, no. We're going to the ground floor. There's this empty classroom we were thinking of claiming as ours."

"I'm perfectly fine!" declared Daphne in confusion. "Why do you ask?" Oh. No. No. "Are you really? Really? Really really?" Why Raiden Kururugi? Why? "Oh, that's so sad sweetheart."
Merlin help his soul. "Please don't get hurt."

"They put us in with Gryffindor for the time being, I guess because they've not figured out why the dungeons are... well flooded." He hand stayed very firmly over his face until Cela started talking excitedly about her pets; surely she wouldn't still be pouting and wibbling. He peeked through his fingers and GOOD there was no wibbling going on anymore. Groan. It had been so much easier when he'd simply been allergic to her. "I kinda... not that Gryffindor's bad or anything, but I wish we had our own common room back, because... well with two houses in one, it's really crowded..."
HMPH. There went the Gryffindor shunning again. Shoving her nose up in the air, Daphne busied herself with glaring at the wall. What of it wall? Do you also think Gryffindor is too good for you?
