"I was angry... I was scared... and I was, like, mega stupid," Jake admitted, furrowing his brow at the mere memory. Bleh, he wished he could just forget.

Jake didn't even turn around as Melanie mentioned a Lemur. At first he thought, maybe Lima... but no. She was gone. "Probably Goodwin's," Jake shrugged, fitting everything into his bag like the master of tetris he was. "Or... Cameron-" he seethed at his own daring to mentioned the name in front of himself. "-was going to get one."

Plus... lemurs were kinda freaky. Jake would run and look at one just as quick as he would run and see badger roadkill. And he'd been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

"I fell," Jake replied simply, shrugging as he closed his bag, feeling the extra weight and figuring he should be getting back. "And I was holding it... and... it snapped."

... Yeah, time to run. Jake could have sworn he was starting to see familiar people. It was all... paranoia. Because Kayla couldn't be here... it was impossible. "Hey, Melanie... I gotta get going," he said apologetically. "I'll catch up with you later, yeah?"

With that, Jake headed for the door and disappeared out into the street, heading towards the school fo' realz.
