Julie laughed with Mina, and quite loudly too. Not caring who heard. She put her hand to her side where a stich was forming.
Your Aunt. I'm sorry. She could just imagine all the taste testings she would have had to do. She quivered in fear and disgust. You do that.
Tennis and Basketball? Really? Thats quite good. She smiled and continued, I do skateboarding and Softball. My all time favorites. Oh yes, she rememebered all the sunny days doing one or the other. And sometimes, even, both.
Mina winked cheekily.
'My middle name,' she chimed happily.
'Everyone always calls me that.' She reached out for a few more; why not give Xy the scare of a lifetime?
Mmm ... fudge. Mina examined them quickly. Half the flavours weren't that appealing to her, and so she instead decided on a couple of pounds of the chocolates.
'Splurge all you like,' she consented.
'I'm not complaining.' Yum - how many months supply of candy did she have already? Two days, not months?
She nodded again.
'So what did you do to deserve yours, missy?' She pretended to look stern, wagging a finger at the other Hufflepuff.
'Other than being at each other's throats, of course.' 'Yes ... Aunt Sal is a rather eccentric witch, to say the least.' She frowned thoughtfully.
'Amusing, but eccentric. It was disgusting. But she has made some pretty nice combinations of food before.' She shrugged.
Mina beamed. Oh, how she wished she still played tennis! It had been so much fun and a great way to relieve stress. After all, a ball or two in the head for the most evil of girls in her class was always fun, wasn't it? ... Yeah, maybe not. That had been cruel.
'I've never tried skateboarding,' she mused.
'I have a friend who had his skateboard sent over in our first year, but that's the closest I've ever been to a skater.' It wasn't something commonly found in her district, after all. Not with all the uneven ground. Even walking, Mina had fallen a few times.
