"You can read the meaning of your Destiny Number in the textbook. If you're really interested, you can also look to see if your Destiny Number is a Karmic Number (10, 13, 14, 16, or 19), though you're not required to do so.
"Again, the two main things to remember - add each name separately. Each name in your birth name has meaning and it's important to preserve the number of each name. Also, once you know each name's number, reduce them and add across. You may begin."
Professor Shackleton remembered something she wanted to write down, so she hurried to her desk and made a note. Afterward she announced, "Oh, and a bit off-topic, though I'm sure you're interested, so far house points have been awarded to Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, with Slytherin taking a clear lead. Who's gonna step up their game?" Professor Shackleton smirked as she jokingly teased the students.
Daniel studied the writings on the board, ignoring the compliments made by the Professor regarding house points given to other houses except Gryffindor.
He then took a fresh parchment and wrote his whole name

Daniel Robert James Kaiser
He then looked at the instructions.

Steps for Finding your Destiny Number
1. Write out your birth name and assign the appropriate numbers to each letter.
2. Add each name separately; you may get a double-digit sum.
3. Reduce any double-digit sums you get for each name to its single-digit root number, but take note of any double-digit sums that equal a Master Number or Karmic Number. (NOTE: We will not be studying Karmic Numbers this term, but you should be aware of their potential existence within the calculations of the Destiny Number.)
4. Add the reduced numbers for your first, second, and third names together. (If you have multiple middle names, be sure to include those too!)
5. Reduce the double-digit sum to a single root number - unless your result is a Master Number (11, 22, or 33).
He then started to flip his textbook towards the Pythagorean Number system.
And wrote the assigned numbers for each letter of his name.

4+1+5+9+5+3=27
2+7=9
R O B E R T
9 6 2 5 9 2
9+6+2+5+9+2=33
3+3=6
J A M E S
1 1 4 5 1
1+1+4+5+1=12
1+2=3
K A I S E R
2 1 9 1 5 9
2+1+9+1+5+9=27
2+7=9
9+6+3+9=27
2+7=9
Well, that was dramatic. That long name is really taking Daniel's mathematical abilities to the test. He was glad he had finished it readily. He then flipped the pages of the textbook and looked for the meaning of his Destiny Path.

Originally Quoted from the Textbook
NINE (9): Your path will lead you to understand the interconnectedness of all things. It's a path of universal love that learns compassion and tolerance. Once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - tolerance for all and the importance of caring for each other. You're a born healer and your healing may take the form of writing, composing, painting, or sculpting - reaching others by truly connecting to them. You'll be learning how to let go, to surrender the self for greater good. Career/vocation options include the arts, international business, education, and health - any line of work designed to help, heal, or humanize.
Daniel smiled so happily. He raised his hand,
"Professor, the numbers are telling me that one day I may be a healer or a teacher or an artist." he scratches his chin and continued,
"I can be a Professor here at Hogwarts and then writes a book." he said without wiping the grin from his face.
