Therefore, he made his way down to the kitchens. The house elves had to have some honey they could part with.
A familiar voice caught his attention. It was the girl from the common room who had some knowledge of voodoo. "What are you," he sad idling up to her. "Doing down here?" he asked wondering if she was in a less crazy/weird mood then she was the last time they met.
As Varius and Cela waited for Argyle to go get more flour, a Ravenclaw boy entered the kitchen. He had never met this character, so chose to ignore him until he began talking to Cela. So, being the polite person Varius is (of course
), he reached out for the boys head and gave it a good rub. He never quite knew why he had this urge to greet people in this way, it was just instinct. "Hey there," Varius said, taking the reins of the conversation and answering before Cela even had a chance, "I'm Varius, I don't believe we've met."

Varius watched as the little elf scurried about after them. He felt kind of guilty and wished he had just asked where the flour was and he could have fetched it himself. Not long after he had travelled down his guilt trip, Argyle returned with the flour and poured it over his head as per Varius' instruction. "Thank you so much Argyle, you have been a star!" he rubbed the elf's head in thanks before turning to Cela.
"Okay Cela, try and rub all of this over me. I don't want a bit of colour left! I want to be white as Merlin's beard on his 100th birthday."
Argyle had moved over to the Ravenclaw boy and asked if he wanted flour flung over him too. Varius listened intently. It was a perfectly reasonable question and he had to know whether or not he could be facing competition!
