Irial stiffened when he heard what Caitlin said. His back was straight as a board and his knuckles were completely white. He could feel himself growing angrier and angrier by the second.
Travis. The little sneak. He waited until Irial was out of the picture to make his move on Caitlin! They knew! The whole time that he, Irial, was gone, and they...
And Caitlin. She...she felt like more than a friend to him, too. She...she betrayed him too. They both did.
Irial could feel his heart breaking, could feel the irreversible tear between them. With all the courage he could muster, he turned towards Caitlin. She was close to him, too close. "Get away from me," he said quietly, his eyes burning with purple fire. His voice was calm and low, but it sounded threatening all the same.
He backed up, away from her, not wanting to even be near her anymore. Only a few moments ago, and he wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms. But now that she revealed what had happened, he didn't want her in his sight anymore.
"Anything else?" he asked, his voice somber and quiet. There was no use in arguing this. She loved someone else. Irial had to accept that. But he couldn't. He wasn't going to take his anger out on her. It wouldn't be worth it.
