She was talking so fast, all of her words were flying around his head like annoying Billywigs. "Did she? Oh NO! Anna, this has never happened to me before! I've never had a GIRL like me!" he exclaimed in fear. This was so horrible! What was he supposed to do NOW?
His eyes widened even more when she said there was such a thing as girl talk. "GIRL TALK? What in the name of Merlin is GIRL TALK?" he asked in horror. "It that like, a type of language or something? Wait--" he sat up straighter and blinked. "Is there a way you can learn this? Or is it preprogrammed in all girls minds?" he asked.
Noticing the way Jack was looking at her, Anna smiled mischievously. She just loved being silly around Jack, since he was usually such a nervous-wrecked, worried young boy. Sure, he'd made a bit of progress since the school year had begun, but he was still fun to watch and interact with. Oh, and of course he was just a little more than freaked out about the possibility of a girl having eyes for him. Anna thought that maybe she'd been a little like that...
once, but with her and Cale it'd been more fighting than freaking out. That was what resulted when two, strong-minded people developed a crush on each other, though.
"Jack, Jack, Jack! Do calm down!" she said, scooting over to the boy and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. He was going to pass out or something, was he? Anna patted her robe pocket to ensure her wand was indeed there, and we she felt it, she turned back to Jack. "Having a girl like you isn't so bad, you know. It's sort of...you know...what happens when you're a teenager. You're a what? Fourth year? Fifth year? Yes, yes, now is a good time for a looooove life to start blossoming."
Her eyes narrowed and she looked at Jack with a frown. His complete lack of knowledge regarding the female population was starting to lose its 'cuteness factor' a bit. Nevertheless, Anna would patiently attempt to explain. "Trust me, Jack. If you could find a way for the males of our world to understand 'Girl Talk,' then I suggest bottling it up and selling it. You'd make millions!" she exclaimed. "In other words, no, you can't learn girl talk. You just sort of have to start looking for little signs, like the one this girl gave you. So, are you going to tell me who she is?"
