Lyra's eyes watched Rob's reaction and then the words that followed. OH! He was so perfect sometimes with the way he played along with things and kept her going. A sly smile curved on her lips as the little first year was taking the bait.
"He would do that to everyone," she whispered as the Hufflepuff, Captain of the Quidditch team, seemed to be eying them through narrowed eyes. "You know, maybe that is why....the Headmaster is missing. That mean, old man professor punished him and...." -GASP- "...carried him off and locked him away somewhere." Inside she was dying with laughter but had to hide her true feelings with only a smirky look.
Robert had grabbed one of the cups on the huffie table and poured it with pumpkin juice almost nonchalantly. Glancing up at the staff table he had started to take a drink of the juice when he heard what Lyra said and choked in laughter. Coughing he set the glass down and winced at the first years, "Sorry, wrong pipe." He forced himself to look serious which really wasn't hard since his mood hadn't lifted that much. "The Gryffie? Well...she was in his class and spoke out of turn," his voice was in a hushed whisper as he leaned in toward Lyra and spoke to the two firsties. "The screaming was the last anyone heard from her. Some say she was turned into his pet but no one can really be sure. We just know she wasn't seen again even on the train."
He glanced at Lyra, meeting her eyes and said with a low voice, "I wonder if he's got the Headmaster locked in that dungeon of his. Maybe that's why it's flooded..."
