"No," he snapped at the woman, looking around for a second, before pulling the sheets out from over him and then on top and over his head.

Waiiiiit... she was going to go? Really? "No," he mumbled again from under the sheets, his voice softer than before. "Stay..."

Jake wasn't scared of Kazi. Not now. The man was nowhere to be seen... so how could he pose a threat? "I don't feel well... want to stay..."
