With her eyes closed, Elizabeth had no way of noticing how Cayden had physically reacted to her attempt at explaining herself, but she wrapped her arms around herself as she felt him staring at her. And then he exploded, and there was no way she couldn't know what his reaction was.

"I know that Kayla and Mari got into at least one fight last term. And I'd imagine you already know about that," she snapped, her own self-control tettering on the brink of falling one diection or another. Either she was about to fall prey to her temper, or dissolve into tears. She didn't know which, but she knew she had to either get him off her back or get herself out of there. "That's all I was referring to. And no, neither of my friends has abandoned me. But you're basically telling me I either have to abandon one friendship, or you're going to get my best friend to abandon me. So I'm sorry if I'm not exactly reacting how you want." She stopped to take a few deep breaths, as she remembered two terms ago, when it had basically seemed like Asteira and Mari had abandoned her. And she knew she couldn't deal with this any more. He may have thought he was acting in Mari's behalf, but she knew that, if her best friend was still her best friend, she wouldn't have had to go through this. "Seeing as you seem to think you know what a Ravenclaw should or shouldn't know, whyever were you placed into Slytherin?," she bit out, before taking a step away from him. "Trust me. I won't hurt her," she said, before she opened her eyes again, the green seeming dangerously bright, although no tears had fallen yet, and walked off. Cayden Blood could think she'd chosen one over the other all he wanted. But she hadn't, and she wasn't about to choose one friend over the other. True friends didn't do that.
