Should they check again? Was it safe? Would they make it back in time to escape this flood themselves? Quite honestly, Clifford didn't want to risk it. Sure, he was Head Boy.. but he also happened to be quite the coward AND a non-swimmer. Which meant.. "I think we should get ourselves out of here now."
