Ari managed a low laugh. "Okay. Just sound like you was letting the guy get to you with him setting critters on us. Thought it was scaring you for a moment," he replied, but his tone was a teasing one. When Irial said that the number was a nine that was the one number he was sure about. Out of the three numbers he was sure they needed for the lock he was positive that that had to be the second number.
"If its not then I guess where goners," he joked. When Irial strained against the chains the lock slipped from his fingers. "Dang it Irial," he hissed, as he tried to feel for the lock again. "Not nearly as uncomfortable it is for me when you move and cause the chains to bite into my flesh."
He turned the dial right again. Trying to hurry because he knew that they only had probably a few minutes left before their hours was up. When he thought that he finally got the last number he asked Irial what the number was.
