But his conversation with the new boy were interrupted as the stunning role model numero dos of his entered the Great Hall and greeted his housemates. Always so clean and diplomatic, but refreshing and down-to-earth too, Shackleton also was.
Beaming at her little addendum to contact her or the house prefects with questions, he nodded politely. Oh how he adored her; mostly because of the confidence she gave him. She believed in him. That was when he heard her speaking with Professor Dumont, I hope my Badgers haven't done something inappropriate to bring about your presence at our table and steal you away from the House table you're responsible for?
Her Badgers. She was near as possessive as he was.
"Greetings Professor Shackleton," Dominic finally spoke to her. "The Badgers are off to a tame start this term. Do not fear. But of course, our rabidness shall not falter this term, we're just saving it for after the feast." He grinned at one of his favorite professors. ooc: for those who don't know, 'numero dos' means 'number two' in Spanish ;D Quote:

Dominic nodded at the simple answer. He supposed that was what he received in turn for being simple himself. "Okay then," Dom nodded, noting the muggle studies professor mention about heading over to check out the commotion at the Gryffindor table. "See you." Quote:

Swinging his legs back and forth, Jake looked up and down the table, getting slightly distracted. Distracted, that is, until he heard his question being answered with a Not here. His legs abruptly stopped swinging and dangled down below, his gaze fixed across from him, not really seeing.

Jake wasn't just upset. He was... for some reason... angered.
Dominic turned his attention back to the House table, where Jake had made himself comfortable in the seat next to his own.
But the harsh accusations to come out of the second year's mouth really struck hard. He was not lying. Not about this anyway. And whether or not Jake believed him was not his problem, because Kayla Winters really had sent him a letter just before the train. Vanessa really was the new female Hufflepuff Prefect.
And the second year was getting angry and ... was that tears brimming in his eyes? OH NO!
"I am NOT lying, Jacob Upstead." Dominic said, gritting his teeth together. "And do NOT blame me or cry for her not telling you herself." Harsh, perhaps, but really being accused of lying was not on his high to-do list. "Kayla Winters is NOT returning to Hogwarts this term."
