He made a show of looking around the staff table and then back to her. "Seems you are lacking in that department, I can't see anyone looking your way." He stood up abruptly from the table and looked down at her, the only way Annie should be looked at. "I might go and acquaint myself with some of the students." Marcus leaned down and pressed his lips next to her ear. "Probably get a more stimulating conversation then the one I am getting now."

Marcus turned to Caroline and gave her a genuine smile. "I'll be back in a minute okay. And if she hassles you, then give her some of that Avalon attitude." He gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze and headed down to the student tables.

"Oh yes, it comes soooo naturally you just have little girls ten years younger fawning over you." Anastasia put a hand to her chest like she too was dazzled by the Axe, when really she was of course referring to the girl sitting on his other side. "Remember, Axe, this school is full of innocent students all too young to remember your wild side."

She smiked again and turned back to the front of the table, determined to ignore his ridiculous laughter. Bunbury was no comedian, what gave him the right to laugh like that?! "Surprised?" Her folded hands slowly turned into fists as she dug her nails into her palms. "You have no idea what surprises are in store for you yet, Marcus Lawson..."

And she was going to leave it at that. "Perhaps you could have your little Healer girlfriend check your eyesight while you're at it," Annie commented coolly and quietly, not even watching him leave. "Go play with the students now, they're at your level of intelligence anyway."

She wasn't even going to acknowledge her question with an answer, especially not when the woman proved Annie's point. See, she had been ogling Bunbury or else she wouldn't have overheard her conversation with Marcus. Ha HA!
