Tundra gave a happy meow and bounded toward her. She felt bad for leaving him and bent down to pick him up. His purrs indicated that he wasn't all that upset with her which made her smile. Her blue eyes once again rested on Mariel and she gave her fellow Claw a questioning look.

Lasca had invited Mariel to join her in the other compartment but it seemed everyone had disappeared for the moment. Smiling to herself she walked down the hallway, intent on returning to Nate and Pyralis. Tundra, her white and grey kitten purred steadily in her arms as dozed off. That made her smile bigger. For all his mischief making her was a cute little thing. Smart too, devilishly so.
Passing by a compartment she did a double take and noticed one of the occupants. That not where I left her. Hmmm. Deciding to investigate she opened the compartment door and leaned on the frame. "Hello. Made new friends I see." She smiled at the other girls present and gave a small curtsy. "I'm Lasca, mind if I join you?" Mariel looked up as a familiar voice sounded from the compartment door. It was Lasca - she had wondered where the girl had run off to. Thinking over the girl's question for a moment, Mariel decided she would go off with Lasca for a little while. Her compartment was awfully busy with people running in and out, not that she really thought it'd be much different elsewhere, but she wanted to chat with her best friend anyway. But who was 'us' and where was it that she was leading her?
Getting up to leave, the third year turned to her compartment companions. "Bye, Becca," she said cheerfully. "It was nice meeting you, Copernicus." And she gave a casual wave to the others still present. "I'll probably be back later." She had to come back. She'd have to retrieve the trunk she was leaving there.
As she turned back to Lasca, she noticed her fellow third year was
gone. Mariel poked her head out the door, but saw no sign of her in the corridor. Well, she was not about to sit back down for the third time. Her indecisive sitting/standing routine was starting to get a bit ridiculous. She'd just have to go search her out. The thirteen year old proceeded through the back of the train, glancing in windows for any sign of her friend.
