Maybe. Maybe he could get up. He was awfully sleepy now, they might have to shake him a bit if he fell asleep. Stretching one arm up, he put it across his forehead to block the light from his eyes as the other crossed over his stomach.
"You'd better tell me if I start bothering you," he said sleepily. "I'll feel bad if you don't."
Raiden's head was heavier than Kiri had expected, but not uncomfortably so. Not at all, in fact.
He was odd to look at from this position - his face this close to hers again. The lively eyes, the black hair... Or maybe it just appeared that way because she'd never actually had a boy use her lap as a pillow. She smiled lightly as he brought up his hand, and part of his face disappeared under it. He really had to be awfully sleepy! "I'll tell you," she said quietly, thinking privately that
that was an unlikely event to take place.
Soon, his breathing slowed down. It looked like he might actually fall asleep soon. With no small amount of fascination, Kiri watched his chest move up and down, hoping she wasn't too obvious. Depending on how she moved her head, his breath brushed her cheek.
There was just one problem: What should she do with her own arms? Especially the one on Raiden's side, she had to hold a little awkwardly. Could she just put it on his stomach? No, no, impossible!
She settled for letting it cross her stomach, mimicking Raiden's posture. It came to rest against his cheek, sending shivery sparks up her arm.

The age gap probably didn't help things at all, as they hadn't taken any exams yet, and she was going to be taking the most important exams during this year. At least they could ask her about them.
Kiri looked up again. She nodded. "Oh yes, I am," she told Vanessa. Just how much of that had to do with the actual school, she didn't know, but she suspected (well,
knew) that last year, her response had been less enthusiastic. Part of the reason for that was resting on her lap this very moment! (The rest of it stretching out on the seats next to her.)
"What about you?"
