Helen seeked an empty compartment for two reasons. One, she didn't know anybody yet. And two, she desperately wanted to bounce her super ball. It was way too crowded on the platform, meaning it would get lost easily. And she didn't want to get a new one out of her bag in her trunk just yet. And she didn't want to risk loosing it in the corridor, either, and risk going into some compartment that was full. 'What if it was full of upperclassmen? That would be seriously embarrassing.' She wished she would find an empty compartment and fast.
And as her luck would have it, Helen found one after peeking into about seven of them. She grinned when she found the compartment to be empty. 'Finally. Now I can bounce it as I please, without the risk of hitting anybody.' Reaching into her jeans pocket, she pulled out her blue super bouncy ball, and threw it down as hard it she could. The ball was a blue blur, bouncing up to the ceiling, then back to the ground, the walls, everywhere. Helen had to either duck, or move her feet every ten seconds.
But then her luck ran out. The ball was coming towards her, and hit her square in the forehead before she had time to react. Helen fell onto the seat behind her; the ball fell to the ground and bounced a few times before stopping. Looking at where the super ball stopped, she rubbed her forehead with her hand."Ow..." 'Note to self: Never cherrybomb anything in small, enclosed spaces.' |
