"Oh, I'm with the Examination Authority," Miley answered. "What department are you in?" She looked back at the table where the food was at and picked up a chocolate muffin. She took a bite out of it and looked back at Jake, waiting for him to talk.

"Oh? That was my department as well," Jake said excitedly as his thoughts came true. "I'm now a Division Head," he answered Miley's question with a proud yet not egotistical smile as he grabbed another chip, chewing this one more than the other since the other had felt uncomfortable as he swallowed it - talking and eating simultaneously is more dangerous than people realise...
"Yeah - well, as you know, I'm Jake. I've been to almost every single country you can thing of and I li-" he began then stopped abruptly as his breath caught in his throat - Lucy had walked in. Feeling the heat slowly rise to his face as he realised he must have been pretty obvious with his emotions, he turned back to his new acquaintance and mumbled, "I'm sorry - I'll see you later."

Flipper Lucy was trying to convince herself she wasn't late, not even close. She had been dressing up. Anyone that had already seen her in a couple social parties could tell she liked black clothes for any social event. Looking around the room, she spotted some people she also had to stop by a talk to, but she also noticed a couple new faces around. It's good. This Department needs young people that can also understand the people who we work for: the youth in Hogwarts. Someone that could year her thoughts would say she was older that she, in fact, was.
"Nope, everyone else is just really early Lucy," Jake said, catching the end of his girlfriend's sentence as he approached her and his boss. Wow... I haven't seen her for a while - she look good, as always. Reaching them, he was suddenly at loss for how to greet her. He couldn't kiss her for two reasons: a) they were at work and it was highly unprofessional and b) he didn't really feel like it - he didn't think it was appropriate to kiss someone whom he hadn't seen for a while, even if she was his girlfriend.
But then, what do I do? I can't shake her hand since that's way too formal and hugging is definitely out of the question since I just don't do hugs... Finally settling for a large grin, he greeted Lucy and put his hands in the front pockets of his jeans awkwardly as he tried to appear ok - and failed miserably. "Heya Lucy," he said, using her proper nickname and not his usual 'Luce'...
