 Gryffindor House Rules
Congratulations on being sorted into Gryffindor, or welcome back to our old hands. Please read the Rules listed below. Not following them could lead to being put in detention, suspended, or even expelled, so please follow them. They are here to protect you and make the site enjoyable and accessible to people of all ages, so please respect them. They apply both to the common room and the entire school. 1. First and foremost the SS site rules apply to all areas of the school.
2. Dorms - Please stay in your respective dormitories. There are to be NO boys in the girls dorms and NO girls in the boys dorms. This is without exception and will be punished without hesitation, so just don't do it.
2. Absolutely NO public displays of affection. A hug or a peck on the cheek on occasion is tolerated, but anything further to that will be dealt with.
3. No drugs or alcohol will be allowed in this House. Butterbeer will be accepted in reasonable amounts. Any person caught with contraband will be suspended or expelled (depending on the case.)
4. Please don't post OOC (out of character) in the threads too much. It clutters everything up and is annoying. eg. Don't announce that you are leaving in the common room or dorms, just say your going to bed or something in character.
5. HAVE FUN! That's what the site is here for, so make the most of it!
General Information
Classes
You can attend any class you wish, just check to see if you need to sign up. You don't have to attend classes if you don't want to, but it will really help Gryffindor win the House Cup! Classes are the best way to earn house points, which we really need. Most classes also have homework that can be completed for points, so try to be as active in the classes as you can. If you arrive in the middle of an ongoing class DO NOT say 'sorry I'm late', or 'what did I miss', just join into the class and act as if you were there the whole time. Professors hate that and will often take off points, so don't do it.
Detention
Chances are if you break the school/house rules you will receive a detention. These can be given out by any of the Professors and are served in the dungeon. The most common way to land in detention is:
Ø Sneaking into the wrong dormitories
Ø Cursing and being rude / offensive to other students or staff members
Ø Coming into class saying "Sorry, I'm late" or "What are we doing anyway?"
House Points
The best way to earn house points is class participation and homework. They can also be earned by helping another student or Professors, and doing extra credit work.
Hogsmeade
The school and house rules still apply in Hogsmeade. It's a great place to go on weekends to shop and have fun. There are usually alot of teachers hanging around to so be careful, and don't take your tricks and jokes to class! |
