42. Portraits

“What’s been happening here?” Rowena asked, looking at an unfamiliar portrait which now hung in front of the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room she was trying to access.

“Password,” the fairy on the portrait demanded, sticking her nose in the air.

“Oh for the love of Merlin, somebody’s been switching portraits around again, haven’t they? Let me in, can’t you see I’m the Head of House?”

“No password, no entry,” came the high-pitched reply.

“You will be returned to the darkest corridor as soon as I find the original,” Rowena vowed, opening the doorway with magic only she knew.
