The seventh year would never be able to leave happily tomorrow if she didn't talk to Ema and Karla especially, it was necessary. "I know, studying for NEWTs took up alot of my time." Vannah admitted sadly, frowning ever so slightly. Whenever she wasn't busy, she could rarely catch up with Ema. She regretted that, so much. "I wish I could change that. But you know, it'll be okay. If you think your going rid of me that easily think again," She chuckled, giving the younger girl a wink. Adding, "Or Curt, for that matter." Savannah smiled brightly, a look to match the mood she was focused on keeping. "I promise, I'll write to you as much as you want! Curt and I are going to keep in contact with you guys." Savannah promised, nodding enthusiastically. At first they would be abit busy, starting their careers and all, but the Hufflepuff was certain they weren't going to leave friends behind. Not a chance. "And I am going to want you to come visit! I'll even talk to your parents if that'll help," She told Ema, offering to talk to the younger girls mother and father if it would help, and make them more comfortable knowing who their daughter was with and where she was at. Emalyn beamed at her friend. "Good! I was going to make you write anyway. I don't know Curt too well, but he's a great flyer...and I love getting letters." Emalyn took a bit of the biscut on her plate until she almost spluttered it back onto her plate with what Vannah said next.
Visit? VISIT?! Emalyn coughed and took a sip of her pumpkin juice before swallowing: that biscut was dry. "Oooh, of course!" she gushed, not meaning to sound so eager. During her summer she hadn't heard anything from anyone in the wizarding world. Oooh, how wonderful would it be to visit Vannah? Or anyone, for that matter? Quote:

An amused look took over on the first year's face as she remebered the first time she'd experienced pumpkin juice... and then Ema had offered it to her as well. Her first day at Hogwarts... Melanie shook herself, not wanting to get all freakishly emotional just because someone had offered her some pumpkin juice. "Yep, sure." Melanie said, eagerly, sticking a cup underneath the big glass pitcher so Ema could pour some pumpkin juice in for her. "Please." she added.
Melanie noticed the older girl Ema was speaking to and couldn't help but note she was old enough to be leaving Hogwarts...for good. Melanie never ever ever wanted to leave Hogwarts. Ever.
Emalyn kept her polite smile in place as she poured the pumpkin juice into Melanie's goblet. "Are you happy to leave?" she asked curiously. "I thought I would be, because I have people that I miss, but -"
Ema thought instantly of Liam, back at home. Oh, she had forgotten! After he had written to her sometime after winter, she hadn't written back! Ooh, she'd be in for it. She missed his greatly. A sorrowful expression enveloped her happy manner in the blink of an eye. She shook her head and tried to smile again. The first moment I see him, I'm going to attack him with hugs. "Well, now I'm not so sure I want to leave. I'll miss everyone." she set the jug of pumpkin juice down.
Melanie's eyes scanned the table as Ema spoke to the older girl hoping she'd see someone else she knew...
Jake. Jake Upstead.
Was it even worth it? She knew he didn't like her, but he had seemed really nice in the muggle studies project and he'd found her locket, but maybe he was just a fantastic actor.
She didn't exactly desperately want to speak to him, but he looked sad... and you didn't just let another Huffie go sad.
"Jaaaaake." she called, to get his attention , sliding a few inches down the bench to talk to him, still keeping a possessive eye on her seat next to Emalyn. "You look sad." she pointed out, giving him a look that clearly said you're-not-allowed-to-be-sad-while-sitting-at-this-table-so-there and poking him on the shoulder. Emalyn hardly noticed that Melanie had been talking to Jake; she had been so wrapped up in her own thoughts and talking with Vannah. She leaned over so that she could see him and gave him a wave, smiling. Ahh, she'd miss him, too. If he hadn't of been talking to Melanie, Ema knew she would have caused more of a scene...she'd have to attack him later. Quote:

Especially as House Prefect, this was probably not a good idea to show up late to the feast but after the exhausting week of Finals AND OWL exams, the fifth year had just about collapsed for his last half a day free on the couch in the common room.
After two years of Hogwarts and playing for the house Quidditch team - Dominic liked Hogwarts. This was only his fifth year and he knew there would be people graduating this term, whom this was their last feast ever. For all he knew though, after his OWL exams, this might his too. He could just picture the letter from Shackleton now proclaiming him a dunce and summoning his Prefect badge. Ugh.
Annoyed at himself for thinking such depressing thoughts, the five foot ten handsome boy tousled his hair lightly as he pulled the door to the Great Hall open. The room he had spent too much time in this last week with practicals and written OWL exams. A room that had been one of joy and happiness this year, but one also of demise and frustration.
Apparently not everyone seemed to have the same thoughts as him though, given the cheerful mood from the place - mostly from the Ravenclaw table - the long rectangular shape that his golden eyes had automatically flicked over to as he bit his lower lip. Next term, he thought bitterly thinking how likely Mystery Girl would probably rather be celebrating her house glory than taunting him with her house wins. Ugh, again.
Dominic turned his attention instead to his own house table, pleased to see that his badgers seemed to be more joyful than he was. Second place, Second best. He thought bitterly again, wanting nothing more than to be home for the summer already. Things would be better after a two month vacation, he was sure of that.
Was that a baby red panda in the arms of the Groundskeeper!? Blinking back the shock, he walked over towards Neo in time to hear him offer his congratulations. A well fought fight, but it was lost. Granted second place was better than third last term, but still, it was her house and even though he was really proud of her, he was frustrated too. "Thank you, Mr Masterson," the fifth year spoke amicably. "And you can bet your panda that we will be stepping it up even more next term." He was going to be a sixth year next term, assuming he passed some OWL exams, and nothing was going to stop him from working harder and whipping younger badgers into shape. Emalyn's head snapped up as soon as she realized who had entered the Great Hall. No, she hadn't really talked to Dominic for more than a few brief words, but she was sad to see him go for another year, as well. She was in a mood where anyone from Hufflepuff was in a non-safety zone around her. She leapt up, a crazy look in her eyes, as she walked quickly up to Dom. "I'M GOING TO MISS YOU!" she found herself exclaiming, jumping at him and hugging him around the middle in a bear hug. It was hard to hug him, as he was wayyyy taller, but she managed. "Yof fur gate dis yea-uh," she mumbled, her face burried in his robes. Then she backed up, realizing how awkward this was. She cleared her throat. "You were great this year...at Quidditch, I mean." Emalyn stepped back and grinned.
NOW. Where was Kaika, Ella, Ross and Miranda? She gazed around frantically. There would be no safety for them, either.
