Barry gave a confused look to Elizabeth "You gave it up? Why so? It sounds like a wonderful position" he said Elizabeth sat quietly, waiting for everything to get straightened out regarding the prefect badge thing, especially since at leat Willow had seemed worried about Tino being under the table for some reason. But she laughed again as Barry tried to cover his earlier mistake as he noticed the prefect badge on the actual prefect. "Or something like that," she murmured, before he had returned his gaze to her, looking confused. "Why did I give it up?," she replied, shrugging a little. "I felt like I wanted to have time to just be normal, have fun without having to worry about watching everyone else. I mean, it is a great position, but sometimes, at least to me, it felt like I had to not be myself." She hoped that was a good enough explanation, since she wasn't entirely sure how to explain why she had chosen to give the title up. Quote:

"Didn't you?" she asked him, clearly puzzled, but then smiled as he spoke up. "Yes, it has been a rather odd year," she replied with a smile, then chuckled as he told her that Tino was looking for her badge - a fact that she knew, but still found amusing to hear.
Turning back to the ex-prefect, she continued, "Well, it's a weird coincidence that I showed up, isn't it?" she said, then added just to make sure, "And you're Elizabeth, right?" Merlin, how embarrassing would it be if it turns out here name is Emily or something? she thought to herself, then her eyes flicked over to Tino and she grinned - odd coincidence. Still feeling a little stymied by her attempt at explaining things, Elizabeth glanced over as the prefect verified she had had her name right, and smiled again. "I have no idea," she said in response to the question about Barry noticing the badge earlier in the term. And then she nodded. "It was certainly an amusing coincidence. Or you have a really interesting sense of timing," she said, grinning. "And yes, I'm Elizabeth."
