Pulling her long, dark hair into a ponytail to keep it out of her face on this exceptionally warm, late Spring day, Mariel stepped foot into the nursery for another visit with Felix. Her visits were becomming more frequent as the term drew to a close. Was she actually thinking she might miss him over the summer?

Immediately walking over to her jarvey's cage, Mariel's smile at the sight of Felix being awake this time fell slightly at seeing the state his cage was in. It was absolutely filthy having been a while since she, or apparently anyone else, had last cleaned it. After greeting Felix, she went over to the supply shelves and retrieved some fresh bedding before returning to his cage.

The second year gently pulled the jarvey out of her cage and her wand out of her pocket. After administering a few cleaning spells to the cage, she added some fresh bedding and set Felix back inside. "Oh, guess what?" she chattered excitedly to him as she watched him play with the rubber ball she had given him on an earlier visit. "We won the Quidditch Cup and I caught the winning snitch," she added, pretending not to hear the string of inappropriate words he was muttering as he was chasing his ball. It's not like he could help it now that he had grown into that habit. It was just a part of who he was. She watched him for a few more minutes before deciding that she needed to get back to the dorm for some extra studying before finals. After telling Felix goodbye, the 13 year old hurried out to head back towards the castle.
