Skipping happily, Anna headed down the rows and rows of creatures, bee-lining her way to Blaze's cage in the very back corner. The back corner of the nursery sort of seemed like a sad little place for a beautiful phoenix to be. Blaze needed to be in a wide, open space---a place where he could spread his wings and stretch any time he wanted to. A place like---Anna's home. Anna had already owled her parents and let her know she was bringing home three pets with her at the end of term. She'd have Charlotte, the owl she'd had since she was eleven-years-old; Piccadilly, the baby crup (who wasn't ao much a baby anymore) that Cale had bought her in Diagon Alley; and now Blaze, the Phoenix she'd adopted from Professor Morgan. There was just one thing left to do now---tell Blaze. Anna was sure he'd agree to the move, though. She and Blaze had gotten along wonderfully throughout the school year, and Anna felt rather attached to her pet now.

"Surprise!" Anna exclaimed, reaching the back corner and jumping out to surprize Blaze. The bird looked unamused at the surprise, yet quite happy to see Anna. "Okay, so I bring several things with me today---food, drink, treats, and...news. First of all, let's get you out of that cage." Anna unlatched the cage and watched as Blaze scurried out and spread her wings. The bird looked up at Anna expectedly, asking her approval for what he wanted so badly to do. "Go ahead. I'll be here when you return," she said, waving her hands towards the sky. Anna watched her bird until he'd flown out of sight. While Blaze was gone, Anna cleaned and refilled the water bottle on the side of his cage and then prepared a tasty bowl of food and treats. When she was done, she leaned back on the wall and watched the other students while she waited on Blaze.

Half an hour later, Blaze had returned. The bird climbed onto Anna's arm and pecked at the food for a bit. "Okay, so I have news. Professor Morgan's offered us an option regarding our friends---that'd be you---hear in this little nursery. We have the option to either leave you here and allow you to live as you always have, or...we can adopt you and take you home to live with us. That'd mean that you would leave this nursery...leave Hogwarts...and live in London with me. I'm also graduating next term, so we wouldn't be returning to Hogwarts many more times," she explained. "I've chosen to adopt you..." To say that Blaze was a bit excited would be an understatement. To say that Blaze was thrilled would even be an understatement, as well. Blaze was completely beside himself in happiness. As a matter of fact, he jumped around so much that the water bottle and the bowl of food knocked over. Anna giggled and began to clean up the mess. "I'm glad to have made you day...you week...your month...and even your year, I'd dare to day. It's time for me to go. It's finals week, and I have more homework than I think I've ever had," she said. Anna finished cleaning up the mess and put Blaze back in his cage. "Be good, my darling bird." Anna turned and left the nursery, heading back to the Common Room to start on her ten tons of schoolwork.
