MUGGLE STUDIES FINAL
Ever watch the show Survivor? Well, this is your own personal Survivor challenge.
You have been given a mission which could prove to be very enlightening and unique for you, should you choose to accept it and complete it properly. But first, you have to figure out what the event is and where it is going to be held, then figure out a way to get there! Heehee! You see, none of this is going to be easy, because it turns out there is not 1, not 2, but 3 events to choose from, and only one of them is the one I have in mind!
So, here is the situation. You are going to be taken back to April 2009 by myself (Professor Dumont), who will transport you back to the correct year once the mission is over (don’t worry, whether you are successful or not you will make it home, and these events are happening only within the context of the Muggle Studies area, so you are still free to roleplay in the rest of the school and attend the other classes. Don’t ask me to explain any more!)
But what is that event? I am going to provide clues, and your job is to figure out from the clues what the event is then have your wizarding money changed into the correct currency at the money exchange thread, visit the muggle clothing store and buy the right clothes to attend the event, then buy an airline ticket and make your way on public transportation (no private cars!) to the event you believe is correct. You may also purchase maps at the transportation area which will be helpful in your quest. Make sure you stop by each of these threads once the volunteers arrive to staff them (I'll be helping out in those areas from time to time as need be.)
As I said, there are three different events, only one of them is correct. One is a movie premiere, one is a sporting event and one is a concert. To make things easier, they are all being held in the United States, but not in the same location!
So three different events, now the rest is up to you. I am going to give some hints and clues, you are going to figure them out and then roleplay your journey to whatever location you choose. I will open up threads for these purposes, and you will find out at the event if your choice is correct or not. You will be able to buy event tickets and enjoy the event with your friends, then you will be magically transported back to present day at the end.
You will need to do some research and figuring out, possibly working with others, in order to figure out where you should be going. I hope you will all roleplay your working together on this through the whole journey, especially since I’ll be watching and grading you all on all phases of this final. Roleplaying counts very highly, for this is not your ordinary event!
Are you game? Keep in mind the clues lead to three different events, and that there is only one correct event. You will get the most points for finding that event, but will still receive points for good roleplaying. (And yes, it is possible to achieve up to 50 points for a really outstanding performance!) Let the clues begin, and remember, this is your final exam! The correct event is the one which has the most clues leading to it, so you need to figure it out for yourself. Go!

This large city was hit by Hurricane Ike during September of 2008 (event taking place April 5, 2009).
This is the city where the stars come out at night (event taking place April 14, 2009).
You might find this annual event inside the squared circle, or perhaps it involves someone dreaming of being 17 again? It might even be something that drives you Crazy.
