He stepped forward to try and comfort her when he noticed her change in expression, but then she was talking to Professor Kazimeriz and the she was off. He'd have to speak to her and the other professors at another time and explain that he didn't hold their actions against them.
"That would be lovely Kayla," he smiled kindly at the girl and then tuned to the rest of the assembled students. "I think all the students should go out singly or in groups to round up the rest of the professors. Your technique of luring them here with candy seems to be effective."
Professor Kazimeriz was about to respond to Miss Winters when the Headmaster spoke up. He nodded deferentially to Bontecou, acknowledging his leadership in the situation.
