His eyes lingering on Paris for just a moment, Jake looked away and harshly over at the wall. Really, this. was. ridiculous. And it started here... it would end here. Reaching up to his neck, Jake undid the chain that had been there since Paris put it on him, the one with the miniature key on it. Staring at it and feeling sorely tempted to throw it back, Jake dangled the chain from his fingers and held it out for the girl to take, saying nothing. As far as he could tell, Jake had done nothing wrong that day... and if Paris couldn't see that, then... so be it.
It was like he ripped her heat out of her chest when she saw him take off the necklace she had give him when they first met. It was a tiny thing, just a chain with a key dangling from the end. It was a gift from her grandfather, meaning she was the key to his heart, and she had given it to Jake. he had truly captured her heart. She loved him like he was her little brother.
The tears rolled down her as she looked at the necklace dangling from his little hand. She shook her head. She wasn't going to take it back from him.
"I told you that you were the key to my heart. And I meant it." She told him as she wiped at her face.
