George stumbled out of their room, wearing only his pajama bottoms, as he'd been in the middle of getting dressed. He had heard Fred leaving earlier, and once up, he couldn't fall back asleep. He figured he'd punish his twin for trying so hard to wake him by dragging down once some coffee had been brewed. Fred's dragging him from his groggy perch on his bed only confused him more, until the sight of Luna laying on his carpet brought him fully to his senses.
"What do we do?" George repeated stupidly. What did Fred mean? "What are you talking about? What happened to Luna?" Surely Fred wasn't responsible for Luna's death. Even considering all the irresponsible accidents the boys had been responsible for over the years, they had never caused serious harm and they had never meant any harm to anyone. But why was Luna here in their flat? And what about...
"Ginny!" George shouted, leaving Fred alone with Luna's body as he ran across the landing and into the second flat. Neville must have already left for work, because all three rooms were empty. Ginny, ever a product of Molly's household, had even made her bed, and it sat empty and cold. "She hasn't been here all night," George muttered to himself before returning to Fred.
Tara had no idea what to do with a contrite Snape. She gaped at him for a moment before her mouth snapped shut. "Yes, well, you're welcome," she said crisply, seating herself on the edge of her bed. She wished she had taken the time to make the bed before running to answer the door, but the sleep-rumpled sheets would just have to lie there.
"Do you need a drink or anything else?" Tara asked, crossing her legs and leaning forward solicitiously. Her nightgown slid up her leg and she tried subtly and unsuccessfully to tug it back into place.
