3. Transfiguration

“Right, we’ll be learning how to transfigure hedgehogs into needles today,” Rowena pointed to the animals currently crawling all over the desks. “Please don’t let them escape while I show you the wand movement and incantation…”

An hour later, her class was full of mutterings, frantic wand movements, curses (she had no idea first-years knew such language!) and not a needle in sight.

She sighed, reminding herself that patience was a necessary characteristic for a teacher. All she needed was to let them practice, and constantly remind them to say the incantation while doing the wand movement, not before it.
