Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Snape woke up early the next morning, his injuries throbbing. Carefully rolling out of bed, so as not to disturb the partially-healed wounds, he threw on an outer robe and his boots, and hurried up to the Hospital Wing, as quickly as he could manage. He walked through the door to the sight of a very anxious Madam Pomfrey who rushed up to him and pulled him into a seat. Madam Pomfrey jumped up from the bed she had fallen into a light asleep on while waiting for Professor Snape to arrive after his dangerous escapade as soon as she heard footfalls in the hallway. She rushed over to him. “Where were you? I was up all night…” she said, taking off his robe and immediately setting to work on the stomach wound.
“What were you thinking?” she scolded. “You should have come to me straight away for this. Not that you didn’t do a good job starting the healing but, if you had come to me first, you would have been fully healed…. And don’t give me that not wanting to wake me for such a minor injury, Severus.”
She fixed him with a warning glare which clearly stated he was to come to her next time before heading off to the cupboards. She arrived back and handed him a potion. “You’ve broken your arm, as well, I see,” she said shaking her head as she began prodding him with her wand, finishing the knitting of the bones and examining for hidden injuries. “There you are. Now, I suggest you get yourself a shower to wash off the rest of that blood and take it easy today.” Snape’s face remained impassive as Madam Pomfrey worked and scolded. When she was finally finished, he stood up and buttoned his robe. With a short bow, he thanked her and swept out of the Hospital Wing. As soon as he got back to his quarters, he picked up a quill and a piece of parchment off of the table next to his chair. He dipped the quill in ink and was about to set it to paper when he noticed the sheet already contained writing. It was a complex chart of some sort… He recognized many of the symbols from his school days; astronomy had never been one of his strong suits so, the notes were relatively meaningless. Professor Sinistra must have left them behind last night. Snape set aside his colleague’s notes to return to her later and pulled out a fresh piece of parchment. After jotting down his note, he flooed it to Dumbeldore and walked into the bathroom for his shower.
Snape glanced at the clock after emerging from the washroom. It was just after seven and he wondered if Sinistra would still be awake. Taking the chance that she might be, he picked up the notes and headed towards the astronomy tower. He knocked lightly upon the door, wondering why his hands were beginning to feel moist.
