Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Luna took a quick perk-up potion as soon as she arrived back at the ministry which was still in effect several hours later as she was making ready to leave. “A walk will do me good,” she muttered to herself, knowing she needed to get some rest but, she would be unable to do so with the potion still working and she could not take a sleeping draft on top of it due to the possible cross-reactions.
So, Luna apparated to the apparition point closest to the Leaky Cauldron and she began her walk back to the flat. The normally noisy, bustling, crowded, Diagon Alley was deserted. The shadows and eerie silence would have been enough to unnerve most people but, Luna had never been “most people.” She relished in the feeling of freedom nighttime could bring and she found the silence peaceful.
As she approached the front of the store, however, she felt as though she were being watched. Making a casual gesture, as if to pull a straying hair behind her ear, Luna pulled her wand out form behind her ear and held it ready in front of her. Her breathing increased and, in her stillness, she heard the steps from two people come up behind her. She turned, her wand outstretched but, before she could say anything, they had attacked. The last thing Luna saw before the world became black, were two masked figures, lit up by a green light.
