25. Sorting Hat

Rowena directed the new students to the stool in front of the Great Hall, where the Sorting Hat was perched, waiting to be used. Although she would never admit this to anyone, she was worried; this was the first year of the school’s existence, and all the students, no matter what age, were to be sorted into the four houses representing the four founders of the castle.

It was as yet unknown whether or not Hogwarts would prove itself to be successful enough to exist in future times, although judging by the interest they already had, she hoped it would.
