"Umm...nope. I figured something had happened though so...I just....moved away from the subject." Using past term verbs couldn't be good unless it was something like...ran. Then it could be "My dad ran to the market" and she would just think it was something that happened during the Summer break. Lima's next comment made Whit think more. Why did she have to make it so hard for her? Surely saying "he doesn't think about you as much as he used to," wasn't good. She just figured she'd try something else.
