Several Harry Potter related stars have been
nominated for the
BAFTA television awards 2009. Individually, both Jason Isaacs (Lucius) and Stephen Fry (British audio narrator) have received nods.
Jason is nominated in the Best Actor category for his role in
The Curse of Steptoe.
Stephen is nominated for Best Entertainment Performance for hosting
QI.
QI is also in the running for Best Entertainment Programme. He is also up for Best Specialist Factual for his part in
Stephen Fry & the Gutenberg Press: The Machine That Made Us.
Other Potter-related potential honourees include
Einstein and Eddington (which starred David Tennant aka Barty Jr) for Best Single Drama.
Doctor Who, which Tennant also features in, with the lead role, is up for Best Drama Series along with
Wallander, which starred Kenneth Branagh (Lockhart).
EastEnders, a soap which currently features Tiana Benjamin (Angelina Johnson in
Goblet of Fire), is nominated for Best Continuing Drama.
The awards ceremony will take place on April 26th.
