❄ Chasing Waterfalls & Wonder ❄ | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Of course Dominic noticed the chill rising in the room - as the Bloody Baron slipped in and followed shortly by Myrtle. It wasn't that he was afraid of them, but just weary of their presence. And if in fact it was addling Kazimeriz's brain in giving extra points to Plymouth - A ravenclaw. Or maybe better yet it was addling the Hufflepuff's brains to not speak up, which is why there seemed to be inadvertently many less of them compared with the little birdies. Ugh.
Glowering at the young first year (Cedric) for a moment when he conversed with the Gryffindor ghost, Dominic offered him a very disapproving look before turning back towards the front and Kazimeriz. Disgusted; stupidddd children.
Raising his hand, he was determined to make up for some slack. "Professor, fear could also probably hurt you when you overreact to something that you shouldn't have." Like stupid first years? "But mostly it helps you to be more vigilant and conscious of your surroundings."
Pausing for a moment to catch his breath, Dom continued. "Anyway, dark creatures differ from other magical creatures or mundane animals because they are magical in nature, they often do not have a complete life cycle the way a typical animal would but simply exist as a physical extension of an evil intention, and they seek actively to harm. Though their active seeking for harm is often for no other reason than that's what they do; for example, not for reasons of sustaining their own lives."
