It was almost completely dark as Snape emerged from the Dark Forest, extinguishing his wand tip light as he stood at the forests' edge. He looked up to see that the nearly full, yet not quite werewolf, moon was still covered with clouds. He took a deep breath, holding his left arm, which he was fairly certain had been broken, close to his body where he had suffered yet another injury. At least he had managed to stop the bleeding but, he'd need to get back to the school quickly in order to get himself bandaged up.
He slowly crept his way up to the castle, using the shadows to his advantage. As Snape ascended the steps, he wondered if he should head straight for the Hospital Wing or, try and bandage himself up in the dungeons as best he could and summon Madam Pomfrey down to him first thing in the morning. He pushed open the great oak doors and stepped back inside the castle.
