Can you guess why I’m not smiling right now?" She asked. "Look as much as you'd like to stay here in pain…" She shook her head in disbelief. "We WILL be going to the Hospital Wing today. Together. Your well being, no matter how unimportant to you, is my number one concern, Mr. Upstead. And I will expect you to be on your best behavior when we go."
Iliana gave Allie a disappointed look. "I would have hoped that I could have depended on you for this Allie. After all, you're older and more responsible than the boys." She looked over at Jake and shook her head at his resolve. "Though the more I think about it, there’s really no way that you could have forced him. Its fine dear, I will take him there myself as soon as we're finished here." She said, daring Jake to run with the look in her eyes.
Just as Iliana took a sip of her tea, she choked and nearly spit it out. "Excuse me, WHAT?!" She asked, placing her cup on the table. "Why on earth would Cameron think that?!"
Pointedly ignoring the plate, resisting the lure of sugar for the first time in quite a while, Jake stared at the professor. Urgh, disobey... he hated that word... like really hated. Working hard not to glare, Jake clenched his fist, gripping onto the chair he was sitting in.
"No, I can't guess why..." Maybe because you're a mood-swinging woman? How should I know?! Jake answered her question about the smiling fandango... though managed to keep most of what he
wanted to say inside his cramped lickle mind.
Upon hearing her next words, Jake leapt up.
"No way! That ain't even fair!" he exclaimed, staring at the professor, disbelieving.
"I don't want to go there... though if you don't want me here, then fine, I'll leave..." Tell Cameron... Jake's mind was still reeling after that 'on your best behaviour' comment. He was
always on his best behaviour... he only had one
kind of behaviour. The Jakers Way.
This time not disguising his gaze, Jake glared at Allie, about to demand why she had to
tell. He stopped himself, though, and looked between the two females, catching Professor Morgan's look and reconsidering his plan... for a moment.
"It doesn't even hurt... just... if I move it... or touch it..." Jake grumbled.
Uh oh... they'd gotten onto the main point. And Professor Morgan was making noises with her tea... oh, she was choking. Now that the mystery of the noises was solved, Jake considered his options. Slink down and pretend he wasn't there... or run for his life.

epic, life-changing, journey to the door...
