The fifth-year Slytherin lay, sprawled, on the ground. He was clearly badly bruised, and the group of Slytherins that been rooting him on, was now backing off.

“That would teach anyone to think twice before they dare me to a duel,” Bellatrix hissed softly, her burning eyes afire. “Anyone else willing to?”

The few Slytherins – all boys who were well-known for their dark arts-inclined reputations – that were still standing nearby scattered. A smirk swept across the third year Bellatrix’s countenance.

This was his chance.

Hands in pockets, Evan stepped forward.

“Room thirty-one at midnight, Black.”
