Second year! Bellatrix had been waiting for this year since... well, since the last year.

She knew she was excellent at Quidditch, but there had been the silly rule about first years not being able to try out for Quidditch teams. Stupid rule.

As she boarded the Hogwarts Express – with kisses from her parents, and half-hugs for Narcissa – her high cheekbones were flushed with red. Diana met her in the corridor, cage in hand.

“Guess who’s the new Quidditch captain?”

“Who?” Bellatrix asked gaily, all ready to befriend the lucky person the first chance she had.

“Evan Rosier.”
