Avery’s eyebrows went up so high, Evan thought they might disappear into his hair.

- Evan didn’t care.

Bellatrix threw her head back, eyes blazing. “I don’t need you help to deal with a pig-headed third year,” she spat with pride.

He felt as if someone had punched him in the face. “If you knew who you were talking with, you’d think twice before babbling, kid,” he snapped in angry tones.

It happened before he knew, before he could even close his mouth: her wand flashed red, and he was sprawled on the ground, a gash on his cheek.
