"Fine, but can I at least see you shoulder? I won't do anything to it, I promise. It just looks fixed...but you still seem in a lot of pain. So maybe it wasn't fixed the right way.

Jake stopped and looked at Allie. "Some people tried to help," he said again, staring up at her. She simply was not going to back down on this... Grrrrr... Well, he'd be pleased as long as Allie didn't try and take him back to Professor Morgan... even if he probably would go.

"It is fixed," Jake said, his voice staying in the same kind of emotionless robot drone. "I pulled it until I felt it go in the right place," he explained, looking down at it.

Show her? But... I haven't even looked at it yet. Jake reached up and pulled his shirt collar down and across so the top of his shoulder could be seen through the neckhole. It was a tad swollen, purple, blue and read at the edges. At the front Jake could see it didn't look quite right, but he managed to block out the pain, so he looked up to Allie. "See?"
