Laylee pulled her bag closer to her chest as the car pulled to a stop infront of an antique looking house. Laylee looked down at the address on the piece of paper, then looked at the driver. "Um, are we there?" She asked awkwardly. Her father had given her a short goodbye just hours ago before he left for China. He had gotten her a driver and told him to take her here. Why hadnt Laylee just come straight with Chandan from school? Well, she did want to see her dad for Christmas before he left again.
The driver, who looked scruffy and smug, rolled his eyes. "Yes, we're here." He opened his door and walked to the trunk of the car, and started pulling Laylee's things out.
Laylee stepped out too and looked around. The house was beautiful, even though it looked extremely aged. She looked around, trying to find Chandan, and thankfully she spotted him not too far away, in a field across the road. "Chandan! Hi, Im here!" She said, her smile growing.
Yes, Laylee did feel a bit awkward about staying at a boys house alone, and not just any boy, but the boy she loved. But, she reminded herself that his sisters and parents would be there. It wasnt as if they were going to be left alone together.
Laylee waved for him to come over.
The driver tapped on Laylee shoulder, startling her. "Your things are on the porch. Have a good Holiday." The man said with strain. Laylee watched him as he got in the car and drove off. She snorted, what a terrible boring man.
