Cale scribbled his answers down really quickly. Hmmm, who should he interview? Quickly, he picked someone randomly and jotted down a few questions and answers. Time was ticking!

Time Period: 1987-1997
Focus: The Final Battle at Hogwarts - Hogwarts under the Reign of Severus Snape
Interviewer: Cale Newell
Interviewee: Neville Longbottom

1. Why did you decide to reform Dumbledore's Army after Harry Potter left the school? What motivated you to take a stand?

Well, I knew that if Harry was gone, something had to be wrong. Harry wouldn't abandon us for no reason. Everyone had their own theories about where he was, and although I had no sure idea what exactly he was doing, I knew it had to be something to do with fighting You-Know-Who. So, I thought about what I could do as well...things were getting so bad with the Carrows teaching that I decided it was time that the students stood up to them and did our part at the school. No one else was going to stand up and try and take Harry's spot, so I did. Don't take this the wrong way, cause I obviously didn't think I was the new Harry or anything, but if no one else was going to do anything about it...well, I figured I would!

2. What thoughts were going through your head when you ran up to Voldemort, and then later chopped the head off of his pet snake?

Honestly--not many thoughts. I really wasn't thinking when I did that! But I was so enraged with him, since we all thought that Harry was lying dead there on the grass, so I guess you could say I felt like everything had been lost. That drove me to go insane, I suppose. When they put the hat on my head and I felt it burst into flames, I wasn't exactly afraid of what the fire would do to me--all my thoughts were still consumed on that snake. Harry said I needed to kill the snake, so I was going to find a way to do that. Once I broke free, I just noticed the sword lying there and knew that this was my chance, and I just swung, hoping I hit something and hoping I didn't injure anyone! Once the snake was dead, I felt completely frozen with fear, since I was sure that You-Know-Who was gonna kill me, but once the battle got underway and he didn't get a shot at me, I was motivated to fight the rest of the Death Eaters since I had a newfound feeling of hope.

3. What was your initial feeling once you realized that Voldemort was dead and it was all over with?

Once we saw the spell rebound to You-Know-Who, it was completely silent. I just remember I was sitting there, expecting him to jump back up and start fighting Harry again. But when he didn't, and it slowly started to sink in--well, there were no words. Everything was over with and this huge feeling of relief swept over me, and then after a few moments of just being in total shock, I got ecstatic and screaming...it was a great moment, it really was.
