I’d like to discuss it as a class during my next lesson. While many of these creatures would do much better off in their natural habitat, almost all of them were orphaned or alone before arriving here. What we have here is much more than a nursery. Its more like an animal refuge." She explained. "I knew there was a strong possibility that you’d all become attached. It would be difficult not to..." She said, stealing a glance at her little Vincent sleeping in his cage. "I think as long as you show great care and responsibility with your creature, there might be a chance of adoption at the end of the term. Would your parents be willing?" She asked. That was going to be the determining factor in most instances. Some parents will be none too happy with the idea of a rowdy Jarvey joining their family.
Freya beamed at her professor. "Aww, well, it's wonderful that the orphans have somewhere to call their home...and to be safe. I think it's a great way to get other students involved too, that way they can really experience a connection with an animal, not just in text books." She smiled a little bit, "Of course, once you name an animal it usually winds up being a pet or family member. It's hard not to become attached to them, any of them really." Freya nodded slightly, "I think I am doing a grand job. I've worked with animals all my life, so taking care of a baby knarl was like being back home...sort of. Although I wasn't very used to the spines at first...they were intersting to work around." Freya glanced over to the animal in the room, then stared at the woman for a moment, "My parents? Oh, my father will be fine with it, I have enough animals as it is, so he'd likely not mind at all...he may not even notice. And he knows I'm responsible." 'That and I may be moving out after graduation anyway...'
