"How have you been Theo. Haven't seen much of you lately since you started running after Lyra." She said with a smirk on her face.

Jake looked up at the frame and smiled. "Take a look."
Jake nodded at Paris' words. "Yeah... people just don't like different... even though nobody is the same..." Jake shrugged. He'd dealt with this for as long as he could remember, had always shut himself off. It was only looking back that he saw stuff for real.
"I have made... a bunch of friends," Jake replied. "But none of them will think of me the same I think of them..." he replied. Smiling at Paris who was being all nice and stuff. "My mum isn't a bad person, she just... works... and finds it awkward is all. By the way... you, my dear Paris, are awesomeeeeee."
She nodded her head.
"The world would suck and be a very boring place if we were all the same." She told him. She liked being different from people. She sometimes went out of her way to be different. Like at the Black and White Ball, she had worn a red Valentino gown.
"Well sometimes someone means more to you than you do to them. But trust me, Jake. You mean as much to me as one of my own brothers." She smiled as his words and leaned over and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks Jake." She smiled.
