That would be awkward! No, instead he kept staring, praying she'd get out soon.
Then he saw a small spot at the end of the long stretch of maze. It looked like his partner, but honestly there were still so many students in there that perhaps it was a different student. Blinking his blue eyes and trying not to cry he watched as the small splotch got closer, beginning to run straight at him.
Next thing he knew he was almost trampled onto the floor, the only thing stopping him was his partner, who's name he still didn't know. Hugging her back, proud of himself for getting her out without incident he grinned, "You did great with the ribbons!" He exclaimed, his voice higher than normal. "Sorry if I got your confused at the last turn, I didn't know how else to get you to go straight." He replied frowning a bit.
"What's your name anyway?" He asked, putting his wand back into his pocket and looking at the older student. "I did great?" Juniper blushed a little. "Thanks. That was really clever with the blue and bronze sparks at the end," she added with a grin. Following the younger boy's lead, she stowed her wand in her pocket, unable to stop grinning. She probably looked like an idiot with that foolish grin plastered on her face, but she could not help it.
"Oh, my name's Juniper. What's yours?" Juniper continued to beam at the boy. She would be absolutely fine if she never ever ever ever ever went into a maze ever again. "That made me a bit hungry, don't you agree?"
Oh, food. Glorious food. Perhaps she could drag him toward the great hall while they introduced themselves properly. That was a brilliant idea. Juniper began edging toward the door, hoping that the little boy would get the hint. Surely he would be hungry, too. Boys ate much more than girls did, in Juniper's experience, and he was a growing little boy. He needed his nutrition! |
