Reuters has today announced that Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) has been cast in Book of Eli, a sci-fi action thriller being produced by Warner Brothers.

Gary Oldman (Sirius) joined the cast list back in October. Oldman plays one half of an eccentric couple battling to preserve old traditions in a new-future, dystopian America. The film will be a post-apocalyptic Western, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.

Filming begins this month in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the movie is scheduled to be released January 15th 2010.
