Potter’s Princess A+ FangGirl

In her usual fashion, the thirteen-year-old redhead walked through the halls of Hogwarts, her arms wrapped around an absurdly big book, the kind that contrasted with her tiny height greatly. Head up in the air, she merrily looked around at the hall until her eyes stopped on a painting she had never seen before. At once, her feet slowed down their already sluggish pace and changed direction. Approaching the portrait carefully, she inspected every inch of it without making a single sound. Yep, she had never seen it before and that was the kind of painting that captured anyone's attention, especially hers since she was always memorizing every crack in the walls of the castle. It must be a new addition.

Tilting her head, Melly opened her blue eyes just the slightest at the sight of a doorknob. Wait, a doorknob? On a painting? Now that was just - And was that noise she heard from behind the door?

At once, her heart gave a backflip. A painting of a dragon, a doorknob and voices. Oh dear, could there be some kind of mythical beings in there? Fairies maybe? Oh, she hoped so! She had always longed to see fairies! Those were just such beautiful beings! And their wings were so wonderful... She had always wondered what it would be like to have wings of her own and fly across the blue sky and kiss the flowers and - Oh, what was she doing there again? She had to get into that room to see the fairies!

Without waiting another second, Melina turned the doorknob and opened the door. What she saw made her gleeful expression fall immediately. There were no fairies in there. The voices were just normal students. She sighed. Guess there was no point in - Was that mirror twinkling?

Blinking, the little girl clutched her book tighter into her arms, walked into the room, closing the door behind her, and made her way towards the mirror, barely taking attention to those who were around her. The glow was just so surreal that it didn't allow her to notice anything else. Besides, it seemed that for each step she gave she could see a picture growing and taking form inside that mirror. She wanted to see what it was. When she did, she sucked in a handful of oxygen and stared at the mirror in marvel, her hands now holding her book so tightly that her fingers were turning into a light tone of red.

It was beautiful.

I gotta go back to the muggle world,
they're gonna
try and tell me this wasn't, that none of this happened,
but you know what? It
was real. It did happen.
We spent time here. We made
friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause
Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our
kids come here one day.
That's the thing about
Hogwarts.
No matter
how long you're away from it, there's always a way back.
