Mariel's mouth dropped as a first year boy grabbed Lasca as she had her arms around her and Sarah. She stood shocked as he carried her into his arms and left the room. Throwing Sarah a disbelieving glance, she said,
"Let's go. That kid's going to end up dropping her." How could an 11 year old possibly carry a girl his size up several flights of stairs? Adrenaline for now, maybe, but sure to drop her later. Mariel was not going to let that happen. What was this child thinking, carrying her off like that by himself anyway? The last thing Lasca needed was to be injured further. Quickly grabbing her things as they were now dismissed anyway, Mariel ran out the door intent on following this rash boy, hoping Sarah was behind her.
